ACE Basin NERR Presentation & Dinner

Jessica Kinsella, SC DNR stewardship lead for the ACE Basin NERR will give a talk on the ACE Basin NERR.  The ACE Basin NERR is part of a national network of coastal research reserves that protect and study estuaries.  Located in South Carolina's Lowcountry, The ACE Basin NERR is adjacent to Dataw Island and includes Morgan Island.  It is named after the Ashepoo, Combahee, and Edisto Rivers and is one of the largest undeveloped estuaries on the East Coast.  It protects diverse habitats, wildlife, historic sites, and cultural resources while offering recreational opportunities,  The talk will discuss the ACE Basin, current conservation and stewardship projects, and efforts to protect the area from increasing development pressures.  A southern Dinner of Fried Chicken, Ribs, and the fixins will follow the talk and Q&A session.
